Roula Trigou (en)
Greece / Forester - Environmentalist | Public Awareness Projects Coordinator HOS/BirdLife
After more than two decades of action with the HOS/BirdLife Greece, she has participated in numerous bird conservation, public awareness, and environmental education projects across Greece and abroad, from small Aegean islands, to mountainous villages and urban areas all along the flyway. She has edited and produced numerous publications on avifauna, ecotourism, and critical issues of the natural environment for the general public, the educational community, and special target groups at national and international levels.
As the HOS Head of Communications & Awareness, Roula today spends most of her time raising awareness on endangered species and Important Bird Areas in Greece, outdoor environmental education, and promoting birding tourism, working closely with local communities and stakeholders across the country. She believes that any successful conservation project needs public support and participation, and in her daily work, she makes sure that HOS does just that.
