Petra Kregelius Schmidt
Germany / Global Program Manager for ZEISS Nature
In 2016 she seized the opportunity to share her passion for nature and birds, working as a Global Marketing Manager for ZEISS’s nature-observation equipment. Since the beginning of 2023, Petra got hooked on bird photography, which is completing her personal birding experience, and she loves to share her experiences and inspire others for nature.
Petra played a key role in several product launches, international campaigns and programs. Her responsibility in this role is to collaborate closely with partners across the world, not only regarding the optical products but also in relation to citizen science, environmental education and conservation projects. Petra managed to establish a leading position of ZEISS in the nature community by building a network of ZEISS friends across all continents.
She has been a longtime friend and supporter of the international Champions of the Flyway birdrace for conservation and a dedicated supporter of BirdLife International. Another project close to her heart is encouraging young nature enthusiasts and birdwatchers.
